It has Two types : Food Grade and Technical Grade
Food grade baking and bakery products are leavened by carbon dioxide from added sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Layer cakes, cookies (sweet biscuits), biscuits, and many other food items fall under this category.
Technical Grade Sodium bicarbonate is used in deodorant powders, dry fire extinguishers and rubber. It can also be found as a stabilizer for plastics manufacturing processes that change raw materials into finished product forms.
It has many uses including use in rubber products like tires or hoses to reduce the heat build up due to chemical reactions at high temperatures which cause cracking of certain types of rubbers during processing (as stated above).
In addition it acts as an odor absorber by neutralizing odors caused by bacteria buildup on fabrics such wool carpets because animal proteins are attracted to moisture within soil where they feed upon organic matter releasing volatile sulfur compounds creating malodorous gases
